It’s a valuable point, right? It you’re choosing to stay as is, that’s absolutely, fine if ‘as is’ is lines up with where you want to be in life. Not so great if it isn’t.
Decision-making takes ENERGY and quite a lot of it when you consider the average human apparently makes 35,000 decisions a day! That really goes to show, life really is one big series of large and small decisions. Having the confidence and ability to make great decisions, no matter what is thrown at you along the way, has a direct impact on your quality of life.
I’m sharing five tips about how to make better, faster decisions:
1). Get clarity on your vision and values – you’ll have a strong foundation on which to base your decisions.
2). Let go of perfectionism – contrary to what most people believe, most decision-making doesn’t have to be 100% ‘correct’ and can be adjusted. A decision is often just needed to get you started in the general direction you want to go. You can refine your decision later.
3). Listen to your intuition – this is especially important when the stakes are high and it’s difficult to know how your decision will play out. Your intuition will help you manage uncertainty.
4). Seek help and talk it out – connect with a trusted, unbiased friend, colleague or professional support person to help you.
5). Use your most powerful energy in your decision making – make decisions when you have the greatest amount of energy in your day. For most people, that’s in the morning. Keep your energy levels up through the day by all the usual means – staying hydrated, good quality nutrition, moving your body, taking breaks, doing things you love, connecting with others and so on.
